Your engine builds up a lot of heat as it powers your vehicle.  Because of the intense heat produced by the engine, the cooling system must always be working at its best.  If any part of your cooling system stops performing like it should, your vehicle may begin breaking down due to an overheated engine.  The primary component of your cooling system is the radiator fan.  The radiator fan is also known as the automotive fan or the condenser fan.  The three parts of your radiator fan are the fan motor, fan blade, and fan shroud.  Your fan motor powers the radiator fan.  The fan blades rotate swiftly to create the air flow that cools the engine.  About 1/3 of the heat from your engine is dissipated by the radiator fan.  The Pontiac fan shroud is a plastic hood that covers the fan blades.  The fan shroud is used to protect the fan blades and enclose the fan so that the air flow is directed through one way and unable to come back through.
