Your engine’s cooling system relies on its radiator fan.  The radiator fan, or cooling fan, is used to dissipate heat.  The radiator fan consists of three parts: the fan motor, fan blade, and fan shroud.  The fan motor is the part that powers the radiator fan.  Fan blades spin to create air.  Some radiator fans have four blades while others have as many as eleven.  Your Mitsubishi fan shroud is the hood protecting the fan blades.  It is made from plastic and encloses the fan so that the air can be pushed one way and prevented from coming back through.  This makes the cool air concentrated.  Because your radiator fan is so important to your vehicle, it’s important to replace any part that has been worn, broken, and even cracked.  If one of your fan blades is cracked, it will not work properly and your engine may begin to over heat.
