If your engine has been overheating while at a stop or idle, you may need to replace your Plymouth fan motor.  The fan motor on most front wheel drive vehicles can be found in front or behind the radiator.  Your cooling fan is operated by your fan motor and is used to increase the airflow across your radiator while you’re stopped and while driving at low speeds.  The sensors that control the temperature of your engine are regulated by the fan.  You can check the condition of your cooling fan by turning on the air conditioner.  As soon as the air conditioner condenser comes on, the cooling fan should come on too.  Some vehicles are equipped with two electric fans.  The condenser fan increases the efficiency of your air conditioner at idle and low speeds.  The radiator fan’s function is to cool the engine.  While most radiator fans are built with four blades, there are some that are made with as many as eleven.
