Acura RL Radiator Fan Motor

All vehicles need to circulate air through the radiator in order to dispel engine heat into the surrounding air. This is needed in order to prevent engine overheating and engine knocking. For this reason, your Acura RL has been equipped with a cooling fan in order to draw outside air to the engine compartment. However, this cooling system component would not be able to function properly without its sub components. Among the important parts comprising your cooling fan is the Acura RL fan motor.

The Acura RL fan motor is the part that provides the power needed by the fan during the cooling process. This is actually an induction motor, since it induces current in the aluminum rotor to make it magnetic. An aluminum rotor inside a framework of stationary components completes your Acura RL fan motor. It is also made up of electromagnets that are operated and arranged in such a way that it rotates around the aluminum rotor.

Since the job of your Acura RL fan motor is a tough one, it needs to be durable and energy efficient in order to effectively perform its intended function. A properly working Acura RL fan motor will give power to the cooling fan whenever it is needed. If it fails to produce the needed power, then you need to check out the wiring diagrams of your fan motor. You can remedy the problem by applying fused battery voltage to the motor’s positive side and ground on the negative side.

One way of extending the service life of your Acura RSX fan motor is by lubricating its metal parts. You can do this by using a light oil to lubricate the top bearings, bottom bearings, and motor shaft. However, your fan motor can get damaged if it lacks sufficient wiper contact as a result of oxidation. You can deoxidize it by using a burnishing tool that works like a thin nail file with an abrasive surface.

If your Acura RL fan motor is beyond repair, then you must immediately replace it with a new one. Do not worry, because Parts Train offers a wide selection of fan motors at a very pocket friendly price.
