In order to function well, the radiator needs a help from the fan that would in return spin promptly as to provide sufficient level of air necessary for cooling the engine. The fan is made up of four or more blades and most of the time it is located in the middle of the radiator and the engine so that the outside air can with no trouble find its way to the radiator. But some vehicles are prepared with an extra fan to draw much air which is located in front of the radiator. When the fan clutch is not needed, it is bets to stop or slow its motions since this will be very effective in lessening fuel consumption as it also produces lesser amount of noise which will all result in saving engine power.
