We all know that the engine equipped in our cars runs best at a fairly high temperature. When the engine is cold, the engine components wear out faster, and the engine becomes less efficient and emits more pollution. This is the reason why our cars are infused with a cooling system to take care of that. The primary function of the car’s cooling system is to allow the car to warm up to the exact working temperature and to maintain that temperature.

But an internal combustion engine produces a large amount of heat. Though much of the heat gets out of the car, a great deal of it is still absorbed by the engine. And when things get too hot, things could also get worse. To prevent overheating, the cooling system works to effectively dispose off the heat. One of the components of your cooling system is the cooling fan. But the cooling fan has to be controlled also like the thermostat to maintain the engine’s temperature.

The cooling fan is usually mounted on the water pump shaft and is powered by the same belt running the water pump. The cooling fan is of course has its fan blade to help the fan do its purpose. In your GMC, the GMC fan blade is the one responsible for drawing the air needed by the radiator. This refers to the high-grade plastics projecting at an angle from the central hub. GMC fan blades and other auto fan blades are often curved like that of a propeller which allows them to draw as much air through the radiator.

Because they are made of plastic, they are very much prone to cracks. In case your GMC fan blade has cracks already, it is advisable to have it replaced right away to avoid hassles. Find your replacement GMC fan blades here at Parts Train. We have here a wide range of fan blades for your specific vehicle.
