Triumph Exhaust |
Like the human body, automobiles are made up of a variety of systems. These systems include the engine system, the suspension system, the cooling system, the electrical system, and the exhaust system. Each of these systems is handed over to serve different purposes and each of these systems is composed of many different components. The exhaust system is one of the most important systems equipped in your Triumph vehicle. Because air pollution is a major issue these days, it is a must that your Triumph exhaust system and its parts are properly working. Let’s check out the components of this system.
The exhaust system is composed of the exhaust manifold, the catalytic converter, the muffler, the oxygen sensor, and the pipes, hangers, clamps and brackets. These components of the system work all together in order to achieve the task the system is assigned to perform. The catalytic converter treats the exhaust pollutants generated by the engine before they leave the car and exits to the environment. The main emissions of the engine are nitrogen oxides which contribute to smog and acid rain, and which also cause irritation to human mucus membrane, carbon monoxide that is poisonous, and hydrocarbons that are considered as the major contributor of smog.
The muffler meanwhile reduces the excessive noise coming from the car’s engine. Inside a muffler is a deceptively set of tubes with some holes in them. These tubes and chambers found in the muffler are actually finely tuned just like a musical instrument. These mechanisms are designed to reflect the sound waves coming from the engine in such a way that, they partially cancel themselves out. Your car’s muffler, catalytic converter and other parts of the exhaust system are important and absence of one could surely affect the exhaust system’s performance. Well, proper upkeep could only save the life of your Triumph exhaust and its parts. Make sure that when you do your regular vehicle maintenance, you check every part of the exhaust system.
Note that cracks or small holes on the exhaust manifolds could cause exhaust leaks which would compromise the performance of your car and safety as well. Blocked intakes, damaged wires and cracks will lead to incorrect fuel/air mixture that would result to poor fuel economy. Excessive rust on the pipes, hangers, clamps, and brackets could cause parts to hang seriously low, which could bring harm to the people driving behind you. So as early as now, provide your Triumph exhaust the best possible care and attention. Should you need to replace any of those parts, visit Parts Train and you’ll be provided with what you need.
