Your Geo Spark Plug is the electrical device that fits into the cylinder head of some internal combustion engines. It ignites the compressed aerosol gasoline through the production of electric spark. A spark plug forces electricity to arc across one gap, which seems to be the bolt of lightning. The electricity at extremely high voltage travels across the gap and create a good spark. Such insert works double-duty as it helps in burning off deposits. As a fact, a Ceramic is a conductor, thus the material gets hot during operation. The generated heat is necessarily used to burn off deposits from the electrode.

There are vehicles that require a hot plug. Such plug is composed of a ceramic insert that is faintly in contact with the metal part of the plug. This is used to reduce the heat transfer from the ceramic to run it hotter. In such case, more deposits are being burnt away. On the other hand, Cold plugs are designed at larger contact area so that they would run cooler.

Manufacturers set the right temperature plug for their vehicles. There are vehicles that have high-performance engines, which naturally generate more heat. These employ colder plugs. Once it gets too hot, the spark plug could ignite the fuel before the spark fires. Your vehicle must therefore be equipped with the right spark plugs that are initially set by the manufacturer.
