To power up the car’s engine, fuel should be burned, with this comes heat. We have the cooling system to avoid having an overheating engine trouble. However in reality, the more heat made in the engine, the powerful it gets. A cold engine would wear out and damage easily. So heat is actually the engine’s friend. So what the cooling system actually does is to let the engine reach just enough heat and maintain its temperature level before it reaches over the required energy heat needed, because of course too much can be deadly like the way some puts it.
The cooling system is composed of several parts as well just like all the rest oft the systems inside the vehicle. This consists of mainly the radiator, radiator hose, an electric fan, water pumps, coolant tank, coolant, a thermostat, and many others. The radiator works with water, air and coolant to do its job. Air is taken in from the grille slits and is helped with an electric fan if there’s not enough wind coming in. The coolant is stored in a coolant tank. Water is delivered by the water pump to the radiator by passing through the radiator hose. Therefore, you’ll find the radiator hose connecting the engine and the water pump to the radiator.
The cooling system parts are often made of durable materials, but it is not impossible that these parts deter from corrosive elements or natural causes. Take the radiator hose for example. A frequent problem with it is when you find breaks, or cuts on the edge, especially the parts that are attached to the engine, because the engine can heat up the hose for it to break. Fixing or replacing the radiator hose is simple enough, but always follow the precautionary measures for safety. There are three different types of radiator hose available in the automotive market and the one you’re using depends on the type of cooling system engineering your vehicle requires.
The three types consist of the common hose which is usually straight and couldn’t be bent that much for it will collapse easily. The other type is the molded type, which means the bents and shapes are already made so you don’t have to bend or reshape it because you can’t actually. It’s fixed as it is. The last type is an accordion hose, which is the more flexible one and is said to absorb part of the vibrations in the engine and the radiator.
Before you start choosing which one you like among the options, make sure first that it would work with your vehicle model or engine cooling system. But, whatever type of radiator hose it is that you want, you are sure to find it here in Parts Train. If you need help, customer service representatives are available to answer your inquiries.
