Every automobile come equipped with glasses. These glasses are designed to be clear and see through so that the driver or the occupants can visibly observe what is going on outside. Every side of your vehicle is equipped with a glass. At your front is the windshield which is obviously made of glass. On both sides are the door glasses or windows, and at your back is the rear windshield. These glasses prevent various kinds of road elements such as insects, debris, dirt, leaves or twigs, small rocks and the like from entering your car, and worse hitting the occupants.

However, the different glasses employed on your vehicle are not made up of the same materials. Your car’s windshield and rear windshield are made of closely the same materials but compared to your car’s door glass or windows, the latter are thinner and more fragile than the former. This is so because, not all those glasses are designed to serve the same purpose. For example, the windshield should be made of thicker and sturdy glass material to take on harsh weather conditions such as strong wind, heavy rain and thick snow and worse, a hail storm, not to mention other road elements. Since vehicles generally move forward, it is but right that the windshield should be durable enough the serve such purpose.

On the other hand, door glasses like the Audi door glass are made from high quality silica sand. This sand is mixed with other elements such as powdered cullet, limestone and soda ash, after which, the mixture is then heated to melt down and is shaped for cooling. In the absence of crystal formation, the cooled mixture turns into a transparent glass. Further, door glasses are designed to be light enough so it would be easy for the user to open or close the glass.

If on unexpected instances, your door glass was hit by a hard object and was broken, you are left with no other choice but to have it replaced, unless you don’t care much about the things left inside your car or of the car itself being stolen every time you park. But for more practical reasons, replacing a damaged door glass is one way to protect yourself and your car. So if you are looking for exceptional quality door glass replacement products, you can start browsing our comprehensive catalogue.
