The locking mechanism may come in different forms: through the use of a key, through a keyless-entry remote control, through a signal from the control center, through the knob inside the part where the door and window glass meet, and through a combination lock made on the outside panel. All these forms are reliable enough to unlock the door but as they are the element that allows you to unlock and lock the door, they must be maintained to ensure they are working at all times.

All of these parts and mechanisms are the ones responsible why your Lincoln door remains to be functional.
