If you want to ensure your safety, better replace your defective Toyota clutch with a new one especially if you will go through a steep and rugged terrain. When driving on an inclined street or high way, you may feel your engine revving up even if you are not increasing your speed. Or, instead of slowing down, your car continues to move on. These are just a few of the manifestations of a malfunctioning clutch.
Removal and installation of your car’s clutch is easy and simple. However, make sure that you perform the right steps and you sue the right tools. It would even be better to ask help from an expert auto mechanic to do the task rightly. You can also do it on your own but make it a point to follow the necessary steps. You can start by disconnecting the positive cable of the battery. Do the same to the Trans axle by disconnecting the hydraulic slave cylinder or the clutch cable. It would be better to remove the other components that can hinder the removal of the Trans axle. These components may include the speedometer cable, exhaust pipes, back-up light wires and starter motor.
You must also remove the engine mounts to remove the transaxle assembly, but make sure that it will not be damaged by using a support for your engine. Once the transaxle is removed, you can now have access to the pressure plate and clutch disc. Remove the plates on the clutch disc and the blots around the pressure plate. Check out if the friction material in the clutch disc is damaged. If it is already torn or scored, better remove it and have it machined smooth to have the smooth contact between the fly wheel and the clutch disc. Check out for leaks on the input shaft of the tranaxle. Replace it in case leaks are noted.
Replacement parts for the damaged components of your Toyota clutch system are widely available in the net. Moreover, if you want premium quality and long lasting service, go directly at Partstrain.
