As what Hyundai’s slogan says, “Drive your way” is what you really get out of driving off a Hyundai vehicle. You get to feel the power to the ground because of Hyundai’s efficient manual transmission. Driving a vehicle with manual transmission makes a big difference than an automatic transmission since the former is equipped with more than one clutch in it.

The Hyundai clutch enables your vehicle to engage and disengage from the flywheel to and transfer the torque through the transmission in a matter of split-second. A clutch is important in your vehicle since the engine spins vigorously and the wheels don’t. The Hyundai clutch allows a spinning engine to smoothly engage to a non-spinning transmission resulting to a temporary disconnection of the wheels to the engine to be able to stop the car even without turning off the engine. The Hyundai clutch is driven by hydraulics or cable connection from the pedal to the clutch mechanism and is triggered to start its function when you depress the left-most pedal.

Most of the vehicle’s clutch designs are based on one or more friction discs. These friction discs are pressed against a flywheel using springs and locks the engine to the transmission causing then to have the same speed when spinning. The friction plate is released and allowed to spin freely when the spring pressure is also released causing the diaphragm of the pressure plate to have a push and pull movement. There is the so-called wet and dry clutch in which the former is immersed in a cooling lubricant that keeps the surfaces clean and gives a smoother performance while the latter limits some of the energy since it is not bathed in fluid.

Normally, the Hyundai clutch wears particularly the friction material on the disc. If the friction material of the clutch is totally removed the next thing that will happen is that it will no longer transmit power from the engine to the wheels. If you constantly slip your Hyundai clutch then you are wearing out your clutch faster. Why is this so? The wearing occurs only if the clutch disc is slipping against the flywheel. Another thing that may cause your Hyundai clutch to fail is a worn out bearing. A worn out bearing is characterized by a grinding noise every time the clutch is engaged.

If you cannot get back the power into your wheels because of a slipping clutch then, replace your Hyundai clutch right away. Don’t take chances otherwise, you will not only continue to bear the annoying sound but you may also have a shaky ride with your Hyundai vehicle.
