A Honda experience is something exceptional. It gives you a complete control over its gears to fully satisfy driving pleasure and comfort. Its manual transmission capabilities allow you to feel the contact between the Honda tires and the road. And a manual transmission Honda car is definitely equipped with a powerful Honda clutch.

The Honda clutch enables the engine to be temporarily disconnected from the transmission to allow the vehicle to change gears and then cause the engine to resume contact with the transmission and turn together at a new speed. In simplest form, the Honda clutch is the mechanism to transmit rotation that can be engaged and disengaged. Also, a clutch can be used on a shaft that will slip when an above the normal resistance is encountered on a machine.

Among the many different designs of a clutch mostly are based on one or more friction discs which are pressed against a flywheel using springs. The friction material contains asbestos but on some heavy duty vehicles the clutch contains ceramic which are believed to have a greater friction coefficient. The pressure from the spring is released when the clutch pedal is depressed causing the diaphragm of the pressure plate to push or pull. This mechanism allows the friction plate to be released and rotate freely.

A Honda clutch is located very close to the pedal and is operated using hydraulics or a cable connection from the pedal to the clutch mechanism. The clutch is necessary to eliminate engine movement though engine movement inevitably occurs as the vehicle is engaged in driving. If the clutch is engaged it means that there is no pressure on the pedal and the engine speed can e increased from being idle. If the clutch is disengaged, depressing the pedal will allow the driver to shift gears.

The frequency of engaging and disengaging the Honda clutch affects the longevity of its lifespan. In due time the Honda clutch will start to loose and will cause a grinding sound when shifting gears. Aside from this, a defective clutch will make the pedal move easily even if the transmission does not shift gears and the clutch starts to slip due to worn out clutch disk. Adjusting the Honda clutch may eliminate clutch problems but if it won’t do anything better then replacing your Honda clutch is recommended.
