A brake rotor system is basically comprised of the brake rotor or disc, the brake caliper, the slave cylinders and pistons, the master cylinders and pistons, the hydraulic reservoir, the hydraulic line, and the brake pedal. The initial input force is exerted by the leg muscles. The force of the leg muscles is multiplied several times by the hydraulic component of the brake system. Pressure buildup begins in the master cylinders and transmitted to the slave cylinders. Since the slave cylinders are smaller than the master cylinders, the pressure inside the slave cylinders are greater compared to the master cylinders. This is how force multiplication is achieved.
