On the other hand, cross-drilled brake discs have holes drilled into them in order to provide an escape route for the gases. Lastly, ventilated brake discs are hollowed out with fins that join the two contact surfaces of the disc. This type of construction makes it possible for the brake disc to dissipate the generated heat from the braking process.
