Have your Maserati air filter changed annually to keep your engine running efficiently. The air filter is responsible for helping your engine breathe. In order to keep your engine running smoothly, there must be a balanced mixture of fuel and air. If this balance is thrown off, it could damage your engine. The whole purpose of the air filter is to keep dirt and foreign particles from entering your engine. Once filled, the air filter has a much harder time pulling in air and filtering it. When you don’t get enough air flow to your engine, the gas mileage can also be affected. Your emissions system can also suffer and your spark plugs can begin to function improperly, when you drive with a dirty air filter. Although many air filters are made from a paper-like material, there are some made out of cotton that can be reused once they’ve been washed.
