BMW Air Deflector |
We have always been told that air is a necessity in life. Well, that is true;
and it will always be true. In our world today, however, air is no longer always
safe to breathe. In a heavily populated and over industrialized city, for example,
the air may already be heavily contaminated with automobile exhausts, factory
waste products and other industrial-linked air pollutants. Then, we always hear
about those air borne viruses that can afflict us with deadly diseases. So while
air is indeed a necessity, it is also something that we must be careful of.
But human beings, and all other living things for that matter, are not the only
ones who have that kind of need and that kind of problem with air. Automobiles,
too, shares the same need and problem. Your BMW vehicle, for example, would need
air for the efficient cooling of its radiator and the A/C condenser. But despite
this need, it must also avoid too much air or, more specifically, wind while it
is running. Wind may carry with it various road debris and bugs that may damage,
in varying levels, the vehicle's hood, windshield, and windows. Wind rushing
inside the vehicle through the windows or the sunroof may also cause much noise
and discomfort on the part of the passengers.
To prevent air, or the particles that it carries with it, from inflicting too
much damage on your BMW, you can make use of BMW air deflectors. The term 'air
deflector' is actually a generic term referring to all products or auto accessories
that deflects or redirects the flow of air or wind rushing to the vehicle. There
are many different kinds of air deflectors. Among them are the hood deflector
(also called bug shield or bug deflector), side window air deflector, sunroof
air deflector, and rear window air deflector (also called spoiler).
Hood deflectors or bug shields are primarily used to direct airflow towards the
vehicle's top, preventing insects, bugs and road debris from scratching and damaging
the hood and the windshield. Sunroof and side window air deflectors, on the other
hand, are used to prevent wind from rushing into the vehicle's interior whenever
they are partly or fully opened. The last type of air deflector, the rear window
air deflector, is often used only on SUVs and minivans to keep dirt off the rear
window. If used on cars, however, they only serve as a styling accessory. |
