The compressor is being driven by the engine through a belt taking the low pressure refrigerant from the evaporator and compresses it according to speed and air temperature. Compressors have an inlet side also known as the low pressure side and the outlet side also known as the high pressure side. By compressing the refrigerant, compressors raises the temperature higher than that of the surrounding air, and creates the cool ambience inside your car.
