Lincoln Mark LT AC Compressors

Automobiles have started using air conditioning system in 1940’s. During this time, a lot of things were also changed. And that includes the existence of the computerized automatic temperature control. A system that allows you to set a desired temperature while having the system adjusts it automatically. Likewise, the durability condition of such becomes more improved. They have added complexity to the modern air conditioning system used. Only that the “do it yourself” method was already a thing from the past. So this is not actually new.

There are actually several types of air conditioning system used for vehicles. Each of this type works differently but similar in concepts and designs. In fact, they also use common components like the compressor, condenser, evaporator, orifice tube, thermal expansion valve, receiver drier, and the accumulator. Actually, if the AC system has an orifice tube, a thermal expansion valve is no longer included since both devices operate for the same purpose. Akin to the receiver drier and accumulator that provides the same functions.

Being the heart or the central part of the A/C system, the A/C compressor plays a very important role. It works in pumping and circulation of the refrigerant (Freon) to the entire AC system. Here, you will notice that this A/C compressor is the only moving device in the system, and that means that lubrication is important with such. Once there is intense heat produced when the compressor is working, the refrigerant or the Freon is then being compressed. By compressing the refrigerant, the pressure increases. However, the temperature of the refrigerant will automatically increase as it happens.

This condition is called the pressure/temperature relation that allows great amount of heat to be produced. Lack of lubrication and cooling could bring irregularities to the A/C compressor’s functions. It goes hand in hand because of the design of the AC system. Another condition that may cause trouble with the A/C compressor is leaks. The internal leaks are the condition wherein there is high or low pressure leak inside. Since the high and low pressure is separated in the compressor, an internal leak may cause the high pressure to bleed back into the low pressure side. This then will reduce the ability of the compressor to generate pressure as well as the cooling performance of the system.

External leaks may cause you a very expensive repair. Hence, replacing a worn out compressor is a better idea. For your Lincoln Mark LT, you must try our Lincoln Mark LT A/C compressor that guarantees a supreme quality and better performance. For more details, check out Parts train catalog.
